With historical roots firmly planted in the first decade of the 20th century, spun concrete poles have evolved over the past hundred years to become the pole of choice for an ever-increasing number of specifiers and owners. StressCrete Group produces a centrifugally cast reinforced concrete pole, commonly referred to as a "spun pole". It combines elegance with durability and surpasses most other materials in the marketplace. It meets ASTM and CSA standards for spun concrete poles, as well as our own more demanding specifications.
Reinforced concrete poles can support heavier loads with less deflection than light metal or fiberglass standards. Their rigid construction prevents "wind sway". Centrifugally spun casting procedures produce concrete of great density and superior strength. All poles are air entrained for freeze/thaw protection. At Traditional Concrete, Inc., we further reinforce our poles by adding fibers to the concrete mix and rigid steel reinforcing along the ground line and possible vehicle impact areas. These poles can resist bumper damage when placed near curbs or in parking lots.
