CAST GLASS
SCULPTURE
John Lewis Glass

John Lewis founded his studio, John Lewis Glass, in 1969. He was one of the first artists to open a hot glass studio in the Bay Area where, for 10 years, his focus was blowing glass. After receiving an NEA grant in 1980, he started experimenting with the possibilities of cast glass as a sculptural medium. He built a furnace specifically for casting, which melted and poured glass, and began exploring the various forms possible with different types of molds. This exploration led John to create a diverse collection of cast glass sculptures, in a variety of shapes, forms, textures and colors.

ABOUT HARMONY WIND HARPS' ROSS
STIRLING
BARRABLE
Harmony Wind Harps

One day, a miraculous event occurred while playing my folk harp outdoors. A breeze came up and suddenly the harp began to play itself— the wind strummed the strings, creating an enchanting and harmonious melody that stirred within my imagination, a singing choir of angels.

Since that day I have been inspired to create contemporary Aeolian Wind Harps specifically designed to capture the transcendent songs of the elemental nature spirits. These acoustic instruments create captivating harmonic tones that call out to many, to stop, tune in and listen.

Bobbie Carlyle Sculptures in Bronze

Bobbie Carlyle could be called the quintessence of a sculptor of our age, crossing two millennia and several decades. The essence of the sculpture of Bobbie Carlyle is captured in the words "bold strength" and "provocative intelligence". She creates sculptures in bronze, all executed with imagination and vitality. Her subjects range from figurative to liturgical, wildlife to western, in sizes from maquette to monumental. Perhaps her best known work is her bronze piece titled "Self Made Man", depicting man carving himself and his future from the raw stone from which he emerges. She excels at getting to the crux of the moment, the inspiration behind the idea, and presenting that in her own dynamic way. Bobbie Carlyle Sculptures in Bronze welcomes commissions and will work with you directly to create the ideal piece.

Grind To A Halt, Inc.

Grind to a Halt, Inc. has been making and selling skateboard deterrents since 2002, and is a spin-off company from our precision machining business. Contracted by a local college and church to make skateboard deterrents for their properties, we put our machining expertise to work. We researched ideas, then fabricated a decorative and highly functional solution we named “GrinderMinders”. After our initial product was designed and installed, we continued to find unique solutions for a largely niche market. Property owners were eager to find attractive, durable deterrents. Architects, landscape architects, designers, contractors and property owners were interested in preserving and protecting their beautiful work from skateboard and bike damage without compromising their designs. GrinderMinders fulfilled all of these needs, and have been gaining the attention of industry professionals. Our skateboard deterrents have been purchased by municipalities, colleges and universities, private and public school districts, libraries and commercial properties throughout the U.S., Canada, and the U.K.

Gongs originated some six thousand years ago around 4000 BC. The vibrations they produce are our oldest means of sound healing therapy, ranking it among the top sound vibration activities in the world meant to reduce stress, still the conscious mind, and focus and ascend our sensory currents. While the majority of the world's sound healing gongs are built from bronze and its many alloys, we’ve created a unique process using pure titanium. The relationship between titanium and the human body is a synergistic and harmonious one.The engaging vibrations of the CrysTanium® Gong help to collect and refocus our scattered attention while at the same time expanding our awareness. CrysTanium® Gongs is located in the small mountain town of Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The company is the fruit of four decades of inspired devotion to the art of sound sculpture design and fabrication by acoustic sculptor Ross Barrable. The art that graces each gong is created with love by Karina Silver, an artist in Pagosa Springs.

Whether installing a massive basalt column placement piece for a commercial or public works project, or simply adding a rich touch to a residential landscaping scene, natural basalt columns from Coverall Stone make for a stunning addition to any project. Available in a wide variety of heights, diameters, and colors, we stock basalt columns for any application. Basalt is a volcanic rock and one of the most common types of rock in the world. Although basalt is common, it is rare to find the long, solid columns of basalt that we use for our products. In Washington state, there are large areas where ancient lava flows cooled at a relatively rapid rate, forcing the lava to contract. This rapid cooling and contraction caused horizontal fracturing, creating unique 5 and 6 sided basalt columns. The skin or crust on the outside of the columns has a patina ranging from beige to red to black and will often contain a multitude of colors. The inside of basalt is black and polishes up to a rich luster. It is a dense, crystalline material, weighing in at 188 pounds per cubic foot, about 10% heavier than granite.
